[ PANTHEON ]

“Pantheon: Noun. All the collective gods of people or mythology.”

Pantheon focuses on the story of two individuals by the name of Asteria and Kavka. The former is an engineer and specializes in building machinery, going as far as to even be a fundamental part of her crew’s ship. She’s even specialized somewhat in medicine, or enough to be a field medic while on their expeditions. The other individual, Kavka, is the lead researcher and serves as a sort of mediator while aboard the ship. Despite the both of them having rough upbringings and pasts, they were childhood friends and managed to stay together throughout all of this time.

Eventually their ship crashes, and they are marooned on a planet, and having taken a safety shuttle they are far from the crash site. They must rely on their instincts, and each other, to make it back to the ship and to send out a distress signal. They work their way through this foreign land, encountering strange flora and fauna (resisting the urge to document it all), and even come into contact with this planet’s denizens. Eventually they make it, and reunite with their crew, but drama between the crew ensues. These events are what lead to both of them quitting their job and moving into a different line of work (once saved, of course).

They now are travellers who roam planets searching for rare artifacts, following an inner voice that they both can’t quite explain. In a way you could consider them futuristic antiquitarians.

It is likely that The Broodmother had collected both Cohe and Tip’s souls from the Soulstream and had attempted to bless them into new and immortal forms. A “blessing” to give them one more attempt at life, and one less meddled with by the Gods, even if this was a deity’s doing so in the first place. This way their souls would not be separated, and that they would be reborn together in this new, possibly long-lasting cycle. However, their souls are incomplete, and they would inevitably be searching for the lost halves that were imbued in their past iteration’s weapons (Dindrane and Indignation Judgement). Perhaps further urging them to search planets for artifacts to finally be reunited with them. This is also not counting memories from past lives seeping through.

Their current weapons are Rusalka and Stheno. The first takes its name from a Russian mermaid, while the second is named after a Gorgon from Greek Mythology.

Asteria - Asteria is the Engineer of an Expedition Ship by the name of Divinity (name subject to change). While her expertise is with machines, as well as repairing and working on the ship, she has substantial knowledge in the medical field. Sometimes served as a temporary medic when doing field work. Has strong feelings for Kavka and has been friends (formerly “rivals”) since they were friends (although she took this a little more seriously than he did). Wears headphones as a means of not only expression (hence the “ears”), but also to block out the world around her while she works.

This, however, changed when the Divinity had crashed. She took up arms and a full medic position in order to help get her and Kavka to safety, and tended to both their wounds as they navigated the strange flora and fauna. Eventually they were able to find their crashed ship and send out a distress signal. No longer works on the Sea Divinity and became something of a futuristic (while still seeking out artifacts) antiquarian with Kavka. Wields an axe named Rusalka, named after the Russian mermaid.

Seemingly has a connection with The Broodmother, and may possibly be connected to the mythological figure Tip. Something is calling to her, and drives her and Kavka to find the source. Bringing them as far as the Lower Plains.

Note: “Rivals” in the same way that Red and Green / Blue from Pokemon are rivals, but very gay. These two are lesbians.

Kavka - Kavka is a former Lead Researcher on the Divinity, taking a lot of executive decisions, and having a rather strenuous relationship with the Captain. He is childhood friends with Asteria and was very adamant in being in the same crew as her as such. The two eventually become lovers after a lot of pining, as well as working through their own mental issues (as much as one can while traveling through space). His composure is merely his attempts at masking and is internally very anxious and stressed. Has a tendency of biting off more than he could chew.

The former ship had crash landed and he was marooned on a foreign planet, but fortunately was with Asteria during the time of this. The two managed to make it to the rubble of their ship, and send out a distress signal. The right side of his face was scarred from an attack from the local fauna. His partner made him a mask to hide the scarring, as well as hiding his heterochromia. No longer works for this crew, and instead travels with Asteria to find old and long forgotten artifacts with her. Wields a blade named Stheno, named after a Gorgon in Greek mythology.

Seemingly has a connection to The Broodmother, as well as the mythological figure of Cohe. While this calling feeling is newer and not as profound as it is with Asteria, he is desperately searching for something too. He would follow Asteria to the Lower Plains and back again.
